In order to coordinate our efforts in specific areas, AABP needs several committees. All members of the association, even student members, can participate in these committees. Committee chairs, however, need to be full members (Module 6 or above). Committee chairs will be part of the Board of Directors, along with the elected officers and directors. This form of governance will facilitate coordination so that AABP can function as a unified team.
AABP Committees
Conference Committee: Creates, publicizes and runs the Annual AABP General Meeting. Decides on meeting location, theme, design, and presenters; coordinates with BAUSA instructors regarding classes to be presented in the same venue and time frame.
Finance Committee: Prepares and submits the annual budget for consideration by the Executive Committee in accordance with priorities established by the Board of Directors. Regularly reviews the organization’s revenues and expenditures, balance sheet, investments and other matters related to its continued solvency. Recommends to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors financial standards, fiscal policies and procedures in keeping with sound fiduciary and fiscal responsibility, and performs the fiscal oversight of AABP. When appropriate, advises the Board of Directors in regards to the investment of funds.
Legislative: Accumulates information on each state and requirements for Bowenwork Practitioners to be legal in their practices. Aids in providing sources of information for legal problems. Supports legislation favoring Bowenwork.
Marketing: Promotes and publicizes AABP and Bowenwork to the general public and other organizations and professionals. In conjunction with BAUSA develops and manages Bowenwork branding to increase visibility and brand recognition. Establishes affiliate programs with other vendors and organizations. In conjunction with the web site committee develops promotional products that are sold through the AABP web site.
